The Importance of Fun For Kids To Learn a Language
Put down the language books, save your lectures, and start having fun with your little language learners. When children learn a language, they learn differently than adults. While we as adults can force ourselves to study and concentrate, no matter what the subject is, young children don’t have that ability just yet. Kids learn everything much easily and with less effort when they are playing and having fun. There is no force. It comes naturally. Making language learning fun will keep your child interested and motivated to keep learning or practicing your target language
Here are a few ways to make language learning fun
Do things your children enjoy
Does your child have a particular interest? Do they like animals? Do they like cars? Do they like dolls? Use your child’s interests to create conversation around it and use this interest when you are organising your time together.
Play outside
Sometimes indoor time can get a bit much. And, we all know that kids love being outside in the open air. Go for nature walk and talk about what you see, have a scavenger hunt finding objects you have written down on paper, or just go run around and play together outside talking and communicating as much as possible.

Tell funny jokes
Knock Knock jokes are a favourite with my pre-schooler. We love having a laugh together. Sometimes I look them up online, or I just make them up myself.

Listen to music and dance around
Music can change a person’s mood in a second, and I always see my kids become so happy when I put some music on. Dancing around the music and singing songs in the target language can be so much fun.

Use Theatre
Something fun that kids will love is a puppet show. It is easy enough to get some stuffed toys and use them as characters in your theatre show. Or even some decorated popsicle sticks. Tell a story using puppets according to the interests of your child.
Read books your child loves
There is nothing better than snuggling up with your little one and a good book. Let your child choose, it will be much more fun when it is something they want to read. And even if it is the same book over and over again, it won’t do any harm.

Make language learning FUN!
Making language learning fun for kids is an effective way to be successful. Learning a language is not something that happens overnight, it takes time. Children learn faster though, when they enjoy what they are doing, and having fun.
